How can art inspire us to create a city with room for the things we do not quite understand? The things that might not make any sense but in their non-sense create a place that opens for another understanding of the city and ourselves. As an artist that works with art in the public space my motivation to participate in “PICTURE Budapest – Østfold 2017” is an interest to explore how artists can create a meaningful cooperation with other sectors of society. A cooperation that embraces art in public space as a challenge or an annoyance in our everyday life. I am curious to know if there is room for this kind of art in the public spaces of today?
